Meet this week’s Belle of the Week: Abimbola Aremu-Ogundeji

Abimbola’s journey is one rooted in service, healing, education, and purpose.

She began her career as a clinician psychotherapist over 20 years ago and has since grown into a multidimensional professional, balancing roles as a behavioral health consultant, educator, mentor, advocate, and mother. Along the way, she has expanded her impact beyond clinical practice into teaching graduate students as a Professor of Psychology, helping shape the next generation of mental health professionals.

Today, she is the Principal Consultant at Abeamo Consulting, a growing practice focused on learning and development, mentorship, and advocacy. Her work is driven by a deep commitment to helping individuals and communities heal, grow, and thrive through intentional support and guidance. She also contributes to broader impact work through Shades of Grace Counseling and the Odun & Ola Health and Education Foundation.

For Abimbola, her journey has never been just about a career; it has been about resilience, motherhood, growth, and continuous learning. As a mother of two young men, she takes great pride in raising grounded, God-fearing, and purpose-driven sons while building a meaningful professional legacy alongside them.

Her path to Belle Sisters came at a time when she desired connection and renewed inspiration. After years of navigating her journey with a sense of isolation, she embraced the opportunity to be part of a community of like-minded women. That decision opened her up to new perspectives and a sense of belonging.

One of her proudest achievements is her ability to raise her children successfully while managing the demands of single motherhood, education, and a demanding career. She also takes pride in her continued evolution as an entrepreneur and transformational leader, steadily building her consulting practice and expanding her influence.

Like many women balancing multiple roles, her journey has come with challenges, wearing many hats, navigating societal expectations, and staying focused amid life’s pressures. Yet she continues to move forward with determination, choosing consistency and purpose over perfection.

How she defines success:
For Abimbola, success is impact. It is the ability to be fully present in her work and ensure that those she serves leave better, more empowered, and inspired to grow. That sense of transformation is what fuels her motivation.

What keeps her motivated:
Seeing real change in the lives of her clients and students, and knowing her presence makes a difference in their growth journey.

Her advice to Belle Sisters:
Stay the course. Your journey does not have to be loud or extraordinary to be meaningful. There is strength in embracing all dimensions of who you are.

A life lesson she lives by:
Trust God, trust yourself, and trust your decisions. Never forget that the truth you speak about yourself is stronger than any limitation others try to place on you.

Abimbola’s story reminds us that impact is built quietly, consistently, and through every role we are called to carry.
